PPL is one of Portugal's longest-running crowdfunding platforms, operating since 2011. It serves a community of entrepreneurs, creatives, and socially active people, hosting campaigns that range from creative and product projects to social causes, animal welfare, and sports.

The platform supports more than one funding approach. Reward-based campaigns let creators offer a product or experience to backers, while a dedicated 'PPL Causas' area is reserved for humanitarian and social-impact projects where supporters can give donations. Campaigns can run on an all-or-nothing basis or as flexible funding, and for causes, supporters may choose to give unconditionally, so their contribution transfers even if the project does not reach its full goal.

PPL's strength is its established position in the Portuguese-language market and its explicit separation of cause-based giving from reward crowdfunding, which gives social projects a tailored home. The trade-off is scale and scope: it is focused on Portugal and the Portuguese language, with a minimum project size that makes it better suited to substantive campaigns than very small collections.

Operating under Portugal's regulatory framework for donation- and reward-based collaborative financing, PPL pairs project pages with a community emphasis, positioning itself as a civic, locally rooted alternative to international crowdfunding sites for Portuguese creators and causes.
