The review
Teaming is a Spanish microdonation platform built around a single, simple idea: supporters ("Teamers") give just one euro a month to a cause through a collective "Teaming Group." The platform was launched in 2012 by the Teaming Foundation, a Barcelona-based nonprofit established the previous year, and has channelled tens of millions of euros to thousands of social causes spanning patient care, research, international cooperation, animal protection, education and more.
Its defining characteristic is that the Teaming Foundation, which develops and runs the platform, covers operating costs itself - through corporate trustees, companies that contribute annually, pro-bono partners and supporter contributions - so that the full euro from each Teamer is directed to the chosen cause. Donations are collected by card (within Europe) or by SEPA direct debit from a bank account (within the SEPA zone); the model is inherently recurring, giving causes a predictable monthly income.
For NGOs, the appeal is reliable, low-friction recurring revenue; for supporters, it is a tiny, fixed monthly commitment to a cause they care about. The model's limits are equally clear: it is strictly one euro per cause per month - no more, no less - and it operates only within Europe, with the foundation absorbing platform costs for eurozone supporters (Teamers in non-euro European countries may incur their own bank's currency-exchange or international charges).
Teaming is offered in several European languages and is governed by Spanish data-protection law from its Barcelona base. Beyond individual giving, its "Teaming Groups" let companies and communities rally many one-euro contributions behind a shared cause, turning very small recurring gifts into a sustainable funding stream for grassroots organizations.
