# Givingplatforms

> Independent editorial comparison of donation crowdfunding platforms — the platforms that let individuals, nonprofits, and causes raise money from donors online. 97 platforms reviewed across 28 countries, in 13 languages.

The site publishes fee comparisons, country guides, and head-to-head reviews. Every platform page carries a "Last verified" date and a published scoring methodology with weighted criteria. Givingplatforms is owned and operated by WhyDonate B.V. — one of the platforms reviewed on the site. The conflict is disclosed in the footer of every page and the editorial mitigations are described in the methodology.

What this site does NOT cover: reward-based crowdfunding (Kickstarter, Indiegogo), equity crowdfunding (Republic, Seedrs), or lending crowdfunding (Funding Circle, Mintos). Only donation-style platforms where donors get nothing material in return.

The site is available in 13 languages across 28 language-region combinations. Navigation, fee data and comparison tables are fully localized; editorial review text is translated progressively — where a translation does not yet exist, the English text is served. Country-guide editorial is currently English-only. English (en-gb) is served at the root with no prefix (e.g. `/platforms/whydonate`); every other language-region uses a `/{lang}-{region}/` prefix, e.g. `/nl-nl/`, `/de-de/`. Languages: en, nl, de, fr, es, it, da, fi, hu, pl, pt, ro, sv.
