Crowdfunder is a Cornwall-based platform that describes itself as the UK's No.1 fundraising and crowdfunding service, having helped raise over 400 million pounds for communities across the UK over the past decade. It is a mixed platform: alongside straightforward donation fundraising it supports reward-based pledges, where backers receive something in return, as well as community share offers and dedicated charity fundraising.

It is operated by Crowdfunder Limited (company number 07831511), with a registered office in St Austell, Cornwall. Funds are handled by FCA-regulated payment processors, Stripe for donations and pledges and MangoPay with additional KYC checks for match funding. Creators can choose between two funding models: All-or-Nothing, where money is only released if the target is met by the deadline and supporters are otherwise refunded, and Flexible Funding, where the creator keeps what they raise but must still fulfil any rewards pledged.

Crowdfunder's distinctive strength is match funding: its +Extra programme can unlock grants from corporate, public-sector, and charitable partners that top up or match money raised, which makes it particularly attractive to community and social-impact projects. The trade-offs are its UK focus, since payouts require a UK bank account, and the breadth of campaign types, which can be confusing for first-time creators choosing between donations, pledges, and shares. For UK community groups and charities these rarely matter; for international fundraisers the platform is not a fit.

Donations can be made with major international credit and debit cards and pay-by-bank, though PayPal is not offered. Gift Aid is supported through SwiftAid, with checkout collecting the supporter details needed to claim it. The privacy policy notes that personal data may be transferred to servers outside the UK and EEA, with UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clause safeguards applied.
