DierenDonatie is a Dutch donation crowdfunding platform dedicated exclusively to animal welfare, connecting donors directly with animal shelters, animal ambulances, wildlife-care centres, and other foundations that help animals. It was recognised in 2025 as one of the first two CBF-accredited donation platforms (CBF-Erkend Donatieplatform), a Dutch governance and transparency seal for the sector.

The platform uses a distinctive product-fulfilment model rather than passing cash to foundations: animal foundations list specific needs, such as food, equipment, or veterinary care, and donors fund those items. Once a project reaches its goal under an all-or-nothing model, DierenDonatie purchases the items and ships them to the foundation. Its running costs are covered by a flat per-project contribution of EUR 10 for projects up to EUR 300 and EUR 25 for larger projects, alongside optional donor support contributions, sponsors, and supplier discounts.

Its strengths are sector focus and accountability: donors fund concrete items and can see what their money buys, and the CBF accreditation signals governance standards. The trade-offs are a narrow scope (animal causes in the Netherlands only), an all-or-nothing model that returns nothing to a project that misses its goal, and a small set of payment methods. For Dutch animal foundations seeking transparency and trust the fit is strong; broader or cash-based fundraising needs a different platform.

Donations are accepted through iDEAL and Wero, with a minimum donation amount that reflects the per-transaction cost of processing, and donors receive updates on the items delivered once a funded project is fulfilled.
